Message it states "UP TO $4500.00" it is the dealers discretion how much your car is valued at.
so the whole trade-in game goes something like this:
If you want to pay the lowest price of a new car, they'll come back with the lowest price for your clunker.
Only once I've traded a car, back in 1994 my wife had a 87 Honda Prelude, the car was nightmare from the start.
It overheated and had a hole on one piston, warped head so bad that the coolant would over come the oil pressure and dump into the oil, making it look like hot chocolate. I replaced the one damaged piston, over torqued the head, dumped some radiator sealer in it, half ass put it back together and drove it to the dealership on a prayer. Handed them the keys and bought my wife a new car. I originally paid $1200 for it and the dealer gave me $3000 and knocked down another $2500 off a $16000 dollar car.
And that's how I screw dealerships!!!!
